Akya Talent is a multi-disciplined arts organization in Kampala, Uganda. We work towards promoting art and culture amongst talented young people, we champion artists by providing a platform to nurture and develop skills in different genres of art: Filmmaking, Music, Spoken Word (theatre, poetry, and storytelling), Traditional Dance, and Creative Writing.
We are a non-profit organization founded to support film education and self-expression of young talent through cinema and to encourage them in their production activities.
Akya Talent was formed to open doors to creatives who believe in changing the world. Our goal was to bring together passionate like-minded artists who support each other’s talents, to uplift each other while at the same time imparting skills to others.
We develop and produce films and series unrestricted by form, genre, or platform. We create and support films that have both critical and commercial success and often work with highly respected local and international producers in both a servicing and co-production capacity while remaining dedicated to fostering Ugandan talent.
